A Jewish girl from Loughton in Essex is hoping to achieve her dream of being crowned Miss England after reaching a preliminary stage in the beauty contest.
Nicole Abraham, a former pupil of Ilford Jewish Primary School and King Solomon High School, is one of 13 girls who have reached the finals of the Miss Fresh Photographic competition, held by the Miss England organisers - and is looking to get as many votes as possible from the public in order to progress further.
The 20-year-old, who is currently studying drama at Queen Mary University while also working as a singing teacher, could win prizes over £500 if she wins her heat, as well as a place in the Miss England 2013 semi-final - which could potentially lead to a place in the prestigious Miss World pageant.
She revealed that she was approached to enter the Miss England heat while doing a hair and beauty shoot in Watford.
"I thought it seemed like a really great opportunity for me," Nicole told Something Jewish, "especially as I'm only 5'3 and a half, which is tiny and unheard of in the modelling industry.
"I'd love to have the chance to represent England and I do aspire to be a positive role model to women. My parents are supportive of everything I'm doing at the moment with uni, work, acting projects and this competition, which is really great."
