Putting a new spin on the chanukah game of dreidel is No Limit Texas Dreidel
With less than two months to go before Chanukah, a Jewish gaming company is hoping its poker-style dreidel game will become a cult sensation this year.
No Limit Texas Dreidel developed by Moderntribe sold 1000 copies last Chanukah and this year, 10,000 copies of the $20 game have gone out to major US retailers including Bloomingdales.
The game, based on the traditional Chanukah spinning game of dreidel combined with the card game of Texas Hold'em poker, is also being distributed though non-profit groups in the United States as a way to help them raise funds through selling the game as well as having No Limit Texas Dreidel Tournaments.
"As with poker, No Limit Texas Dreidel is a group game, best played with a group of four or more people," creator Rivlin Roberts. "Unlike poker, the game doesn't require one's undivided attention, therefore it is easy to be social while playing. It's a great party game."
